Ingredients
-
Lane’s SPG
-
Lane’s Pineapple Chipotle
-
2 scotch fillet steaks
-
Old fashioned burger bread
-
150 grams Provolone cheese
-
1 small capsicum, chopped
-
1 small onion, chopped
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
Butter
Directions
Freeze the scotch fillet steaks for about 1 hour. This makes it easier to slice them super thin.
Finely chop the capsicum and onion.
Caramelise the onions in a hot pan, then add the chopped capsicum.
Season with SPG Lanes BBQ seasoning and add the Worcestershire sauce.
Move the cooked veggies to a cooler part of the hotplate.
Slice the partially frozen scotch fillet steaks as thinly as possible with a sharp knife.
Sear the steak strips on the hotplate until they get a nice colour.
Combine the cooked steak strips with the caramelized onions and capsicum
Add the Provolone cheese to the mixture and allow it to melt.
Butter the insides of the pie iron.
Build the sandwich in the pie iron with the melted cheese steak mixture.
Close the pie iron and cook over medium-high heat until the sandwich is golden brown on both sides.
Once cooked, open the pie iron and drizzle the pineapple chipotle BBQ sauce over the sandwich.
Serve hot and enjoy!
